Christmas Cards 2011

I will be adding more as I make more, but all cards can be personalized. They are $5 per design, and you will have complete print release. Just drop me a line at susanmonsonphotography(at)gmail(dot)com to give me a picture and details about the card.

Can you tell that I am obsessed with Chevron stripes right now? ha ha.  They are super trendy, and (I think) super cute.

With Love,
Susan

BAKE SALE FUNDRAISER!

So... the BAKE SALE has been finalized! We are having it on Saturday, July 30th from 10 AM to 4 PM at RIDLEY'S grocery store in Orem.

25 West Center Street

Orem, UT

Please, STOP BY AND SAY HELLO! It means a lot to my family!

There will be all sorts of amazing desserts there! I will be baking my Vegan, Gluten Free Red Velvet cupcakes, as well as making other tasty treats! Not to even mention the INCREDIBLE desserts that are being donated by all of my loving family and friends! PLEASE STOP BY! YOU WON'T BE SORRY!

I want to thank RIDLEY'S. We were hitting wall after wall after wall trying to get this put together. No store seemed willing to take any risk for our little bake sale. Ridley's stepped up and saved the day, and because of them, we are able to move forward. I am so SO SO grateful for their support and kindness!

On a side note, I have come up with a few T-shirt Designs for possibly making some shirts to raise money. Tell me what you think of them!

What do you think? The colors aren't finalized. I just designed them today.

I HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE AT THE BAKE SALE!

Much love,
Susan

A Decision that will change us forever...

My family and I have decided, after long and careful consideration, prayer, fasting, and deep meditation, to adopt. We have chosen to adopt a little boy who is waiting. We are going to work with an agency down in St. George to adopt a toddler from Ethiopia.

Now I know what some of you may be asking, "Why Ethiopia? Why not domestic adoption?" And my answer to that is, every family has a different path that they will walk, and a different plan regarding their own needs and desires. Each family is different, and each family must find their own path to follow. Our path is taking us to Africa where the need is so great, where adoption could be the difference between life and death for one of 5 million orphans in Ethiopia alone. My heart aches at the need over there, and though I know that we can't save all of them, we can make a difference to one, and that is what we have decided to do. I absolutely do NOT discount domestic adoption and the need we have here, I just absolutely feel that our son/brother is elsewhere.

So, it is a new adventure for our family, and one that we are taking very carefully, and I would like to ask for your support and kindness during this time. We need prayers and good karma and lots and lots of good vibes being sent to our family here in Utah, as well as for our son/brother in Ethiopia.

In the near future we will be holding fundraisers, and I would LOVE it if you, my wonderful readers and friends would help by spreading the word. It would mean the world to me. Our first fundraiser will be a bake sale, and as soon as I know when it will be, I will definitely be posting it here, (hopefully it will be in the next few weeks).

It is with deep gratitude to my Heavenly Father, my family and my friends, that I can say that this will happen.

So, I would like to extend a SPECIAL OFFER:

Throughout this process, which I know will be lengthy, I am going to be offering family/child sessions to ADOPTIVE families at HALF OFF, and all money being put in to our adoption fund!

Please email me at susanmonsonphotography@gmail.com with questions!

A Day Out With Thomas

THIS IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR THOSE WHO DONATED AND FOR THOSE WHO TOOK AN INTEREST! THE WINNER HAS BEEN SENT A PRIVATE EMAIL.

This year, we are excited to get to go again to "A Day Out With Thomas."

My son, Z, has a very special little friend. I will call him "K"... K is one of the sweetest little boys on the planet, and he is a Thomas the Train FANATIC. K loves EVERYTHING Thomas and Friends. He is Z's best friend. K's family also doesn't have a lot of extra spending money, and they are going through a difficult transition right now.

Our family loves this family so much. We feel blessed to have them in our lives. We love seeing Z and K play together. We love seeing them happy.

Our family has decided to take K and his family with us to go see Thomas, and ride on the train with him. But, we would like to be able to buy some souvenirs for K to remember his day better. Nothing big, but we want to be able to make his day EXTRA special. We want to show K the love that we feel for him.

We are asking for help to do this. Not much, and there could be something for you in return.

For a small, tiny donation of $2.00, you will be entered in to a raffle to win a photo shoot with me. It is a value of $75.00, that you COULD get for only $2.00.

(Utah Residents only can win the photo shoot, but anyone can donate!)

Not only will you be entered to win, but you will be helping me and my family to really help a child feel special. A child, who for some reason, doesn't feel very special right now. It makes me cry to think that he thinks of himself as anything less than the truly amazing child he is.

You can also donate as many times as you want, whether you enter the raffle or not.

So, the rules of the raffle are:

1. Donate $2.00 (as many times as you want) by clicking on the "donate" button in this post or in the side bar.
2. For every donation you make, you will be entered in the raffle. (The more you donate, the better chance you have to win)!
3. In the "comments to seller" box in the invoice, write your name and the word "raffle".
4. You can donate even if you don't want to be entered to win.
5. Do it BEFORE May 24, 2011.

The winner will be announced on this blog and on my facebook page on May 25th, 2011.

Thank you so much for helping our family help a very special little boy.

XOXO,
Susan

Kaly's Baptism

This lovely lady is so beautiful. She decided to be baptized for her church, and isn't she just the most gorgeous little 8 year old you've ever seen?

If you are interested, I made her headband. :)

Did someone say Cupcakes?

My sister in law, Elise has started a cupcake business called, Elise's Cupcake Creations. Her cupcakes are gorgeous, and from what I hear, (I can't eat gluten or dairy) DELICIOUS TOO! Here is proof of the gorgeous part... If you want proof of the delicious part, you'll have to give her a call. :)

YUMMMMMMMM.

LHS Prom 2011

Yay! More prom! ha ha. I had a lot of fun taking pictures of my gorgeous niece Stephanie and her friends for their prom. I am loving being around all these dressy people! My son, who is 3 1/2 was telling everyone last night that his cousin Stephanie is a princess with a "beautiful pink princess dress." It was adorable. Speaking of adorable, check out these adorable people!

LOOOOOOOVE.
